About TDS - Tubular Data Systems

Pipe SoftwareTubular Data Systems is the most unique piece of OCTG management software in the industry.

It has been described by clients and evaluators as "the most feature laden product they have ever seen." The difference between TDS and other software products is due to the fact it was developed by pipe people and not by administrative personnel. Our people have actually been responsible for the day-to-day operations of pipe yards and service companies.

Our Product

TDS (Tubular Data Systems) is a very specialized piece of software that addresses perhaps the most difficult of all inventory control problems, that being the storage and movement of OCTG material to, from, and within pipe storage facilities.

Over the years, our extensive first-hand experience has allowed us to produce the most effective software system for inventory control and the processing of OCTG materials available to the industry

Our management has over 30 years of experience working with OCTG materials - everything from finding it, to planting it. For the past 12 years, our developers have been exclusively devoted to systems and processes directly related to the management and storage of OCTG materials.

No other software development group has the hands-on experience, and in-depth knowledge of pipe and the nuances surrounding it.

Our flagship product, TDS (Tubular Data Systems) has become the standard in the industry to which all other OCTG systems are compared. No other product, regardless of price, has the features and functionality of TDS.

Our client list includes companies from all segments of the pipe industry. Our customers use TDS within their operations to track pipe sales, pipe threading, pipe storage, pipe transportation, and pipe inspection. In fact every major pipe inspection company in Houston, Texas (the pipe capital of the world) uses TDS within their operations.

Before you choose your system, or more importantly, your vendor, ask them one question...

Can they easily understand a product that is, originally manufactured and sold wholesale by the ton, handled and stored by the piece, and sold again to end users by the foot?

Just to make matters a little more real world, remind them, due to inspection grading and/or fabrication, the material descriptions can change every time you touch it!

The point is, you don't have to teach us the business.  TDS products are built "FOR pipe people, BY pipe people."

Our People

It has been described by clients and evaluators as "the most feature laden product they have ever seen." The difference between TDS and other Pipe Loadingsoftware products is due to the fact it was developed by pipe people and not by administrative personnel. Our people have actually been responsible for the day-to-day operations of pipe yards and service companies.

The president of our company has been working with OCTG material in one way or another for more than 32 years.

He spent time as a materials expeditor for a major independent oil company where he learned the OCTG management needs of the end users. He moved through the purchasing departments and gained experience in how OCTG pipe brokers and mills interacted with the customer - and how each had their own specific set of issues for there respective businesses concerning the management of OCTG materials.

Later he joined a large independent pipe inspection company and developed his skills in the simultaneous management and control of OCTG materials for multiple third parties. He successfully operated a full service pipe inspection and tubing reclamation facility in Odessa, Texas, and spent almost 10 years focusing on the subtleties of used pipe. Inspection, handling, trucking, colors, conditions, purposes, and repair are all fundamental to him.

In 1991 he moved to Houston, Texas, the pipe capitol of the world, to become equally well versed in the workings of new OCTG materials. It is here that he was finally able to put it all together and by combining all his knowledge and experience (and by having available the council and experience of many other trusted colleagues) he formed a vision of the ultimate OCTG pipe.
